The UK’s most expensive home outside of London

6 June 2011

Got a spare £75million? If so, the most expensive UK house outside of London has been put up for sale for that tidy sum.

The luxurious mansion in Windlesham, Surrey, includes 103 rooms, five swimming pools, a cinema and its own bowling alley. The property also boasts 58 acres of grounds surrounding it, two penthouse apartments and a helipad.

The current owner of the property is the developer Leslie Allen-Vercoe, 67. He purchased the property, with his company Rhymer Investments, in 2002 for just £20million as it was in receivership. Since then they have ploughed £30million in on renovation work – hence the staggering house valuation asking price.

Just 30 miles from Central London, residents of this property have acclaimed artists like Sir Elton John and Queen guitarist Brian May as their neighbours.

There is reported to have been two enquiries in the property so far, one from Surrey and one from abroad.
