The London property market attracts new investors

7 November 2011

The London property market has been attracting an increasing number of foreign investors. Those from Asia, the Middle East and Russia have been named as ‘the biggest overseas investors in the capital’ by the Telegraph.

London is viewed as a solid investment particularly with the 2012 Olympics tipped to increase house prices in the area. This combined with a relatively weak sterling and London property prices increasing 7% in the last year has primed London for foreign investment as well as expat returns.

Expats looking to return to Britain to buy can also enjoy the added bonus of exemption from Capital Gains Tax (CGT) once they have been a non UK resident for over five years.
