The hotel made entirely from salt

2 November 2011

The Hotel de Sal is a Bolivian beauty situated on the infamous salt flats of South America.

The salt flats were formed as a result of transformations involving prehistoric lakes and are home to almost 70% of the world’s lithium resources. In keeping with its location the Hotel de Sal has been made almost entirely from salt, including the furniture. The Daily Mail has even reported that some people even lick the walls in disbelief.

The Hotel de Sal has been made from salt to fit into its unusual surroundings. Customers can enjoy a double or twin room from just £84 pounds per night.

The charming hotel is not only cosy but stylish too, featuring a pool surrounded with salt, a sky light and bare woodwork.
