The happiest place in the UK!

Carlisle, Cumbria has been named the happiest place in Britain.

The Happy at Home survey carried out by Rightmove questioned 25,000 people on 12 topics including the size and condition of their homes, neighbourliness, and safety levels with Carlisle topping the bill.

The rest of the top five spots were also from The North with Carlisle followed by York, Huddersfield, Harrogate and Chester.

Why did Carlisle get the top spot?

Steeped in history, Carlisle has lots to offer residents and visitors alike with Hadrian’s Wall, Carlisle Castle and Carlisle Cathedral all situated within its borders. There is also a plethora of art galleries, shops and restaurants to frequent in addition to numerous sporting activities helping Carlisle to become the happiest place in the UK.
