The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has announced that tenant demand has remained strong in recent months, with 16% of surveyors reporting a rise, rather than a fall, in demand for property in the UK.

27% of surveyors reported indicated that they were experiencing increased demand, compared with just 23% of these reporting similar findings in the three months leading up to January.

Within the RICS members rental expectations remained high nationally and were most upbeat in the London area. Interest in flats also continued to steadily rise, but remains at less than half of the pace of that for houses.
