Over half of the UK would rather live in a house, a very big house in the country...

22 December 2011

Of those surveyed 57% said their ideal home would be a detached property with a large garden, close to country walks with a pretty view.

Having a good local community was also deemed important by 39% of participants and one in five felt it was important for their home to be environmentally friendly.

Only one quarter wanted to be within easy reach of a pub, one third close to shops and 11% would ideally live near gyms and restaurants.

Surprisingly, mobile phone reception and internet connection appeared to have no bearing on people’s dream homes.

The survey by Primelocation.com also revealed that the average price of people’s desired home is £523,866 whilst the price of the average UK home is only £219,535.
