La Maison Verre is back on the market for £1.2 million

5 October 2011

The Cambridge based house La Maison Verre is up for sale after just one year of occupancy by its owners, David and Mandy Hargrave.

The couple bought the property for £980,000 in June 2010 but have grown tired of living in a ‘greenhouse’.

The modern and highly stylised property is home to a tiny garden made of plastic grass that the couple reportedly hoover. It also features plastic bamboo as the original plants died.

Made from a mix of glass, white walls and zinc, the property is stark though the couple have tried to soften it with bright rugs and paintings.

The Hargrave’s have put La Maison Verre back on the market at £1.2 million pounds and hope to build a HufHaus beside the River Cam.
