Kate Middleton's family home off to auction

6 April 2011

Royal wedding fever is beginning to grip the nation and the property market is not exempt from this, following the recent announcement that Kate Middleton's family home is set to go to auction.

The property, a semi-detached four bedroom Victorian villa in Bradfield Southend (RG7), is on the market for £460,000 and will put sold via auction in June.

The Middleton's bought the property in 1979 for just £34,7000 and Prince William's bride-to-be was brought up in the house from her birth in 1982 until they moved out in 1995.

The property is being marketed either as an appealing family home in a quiet country village, or as an investment for those who may wish to turn it into a museum when Kate eventually becomes Queen.

The former home of the Middletons is just one of a number of Royal wedding related items that are up for sale. As well as the usual commemorative mugs, you can also take your place on a 'Middleton Country' bus tour which takes you around the local area where Kate Middleton was raised.
