The Conservatives’ plan to give public land over to developers to use the funds for new build properties.

David Cameron announced he would lower the amount council tenants will need to pay in order to buy their own homes and use the money from the sales for new builds. The ‘Right to Buy’ plan will create the funds required to build 200,000 homes.

The new properties will be designed to rent to those on the housing list at a low cost thereby helping struggling families.

Government departments will also give land to developers who will pay for the land after they have sold the houses in order to generate more housing.
