Digital Property Group and Zoopla merger

Rivals Digital Property Group and Zoopla have announced they are to merge their businesses.

The merger has been designed to challenge dominant property portal Rightmove. It is hoped the merger will offer estate agents and developers across Britain alternative advertising choice and greater exposure.

Merging the two companies will bring, and together under one umbrella group that will be able to combine funds and market weight to bolster their position in the industry.

Estate Agent Today has reported that “Mark Milner, CEO of Digital Property Group, owned by the Daily Mail which will hold a 55% stake in the new company, said: ‘The combined strengths of both businesses will result in world-class products and a team that continues to lead innovation for property consumers and agents alike.

The focus will remain on providing market-leading products for our users, and an excellent service in terms of value and performance for our members, and this deal will allow us to deliver even further on that mission.’ ”
