Interview - Dominican Republic Architect

movewithus are promoting a fantastic new investment opportunity in the Dominican Republic called Villa Del Mar. The villas are designed by world famous Architectural Artist E. Gene Chipley. We spoke with him from his Chipley Studio in Scottsdale, Arizona.

movewithus: Why does the Dominican Republic attract you?

Chipley: As an Artist I am attracted to the awesome beauty of the beaches, the mountains and the greenery. As a Developer I am attracted by the opportunities for development and growth. As a human I am attracted by the kindness and inner beauty of the local people.

movewithus: How would you say your style of architecture compliments the history and landscape of the Dominican Republic?

Chipley: My mind’s eye could see no style that would embrace the environment and the Spanish legacy more appropriately than a relaxed version of Spanish Colonial architecture. It is not trendy, it is real.

movewithus: What would you say are the benefits for potential investors to invest in the Dominican Republic?

Chipley: There is great appreciation potential for land and real estate. Prime real estate areas of the Dominican Republic have appreciated from 80% to 492% over the last five years. Investments are safe and the Dominican Republic is a participant in the Caribbean Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA). We have accumulated a great deal of information regarding local law and economic growth that is available for the potential investor.
