Pair cycle to Amsterdam for Motor Neurone Disease

21 June 2009

Daniel Hawes and Ben Greco of movewithus, recently took part in a 170 mile bike ride from London to Amsterdam as part of “Ride for MND 09” – which raises money for Motor Neurone Disease research.

The pair started their journey at Victoria Park in central London, cycling 95 miles to Harwich in Essex to catch the overnight ferry to the ‘Hook of Holland’. On arrival the next morning, they resumed their journey, cycling another 70 miles from Den Haag up to Amsterdam.

They were accompanied on their ride by 40 other participants who raised nearly £20,000 in total for the charity. Daniel and Ben raised over £1,000 through a combination of sponsorship from movewithus colleagues and a contribution from movewithus for completing the ride wearing t-shirts advertising the company’s new property website – whitehotproperty.co.uk.

Ben Greco said: “We would like to thank everyone for their generosity and support. It’s a great cause and although the ride was hard going at times, it was well worth the effort!”
