What to include when writing a will

As it’s not a topic that is readily discussed, many people are unsure how to go about writing a Will. Writing a will is your chance to clearly state your intentions about your property, your family and your assets. Below are some important things to consider:

Executors - Up to 4 executors can be appointed. They administer all aspects of an estate such as tax rebates, paying bills or debts and list assets.

Guardians - A guardian is the person/s you have chosen to look after your child/children in the event of your death.

Funeral Directions - These set out your wishes for your funeral arrangements which the executors then do their best to follow.

Pecuniary and Specific Gifts – Refers to set amounts of money or personal possessions that you would like to be left to specific individuals.
