This means that by law sellers must now obtain a Home Information Pack for their property (subject to the number of bedrooms). That may not sound like an advantage to sellers – but it’s expected to speed up the selling process and sometimes even cut the chances of the sale falling through. That’s because the pack provides buyers with all the information they need up front, including legal details, searches and so on.
To request your HIP you can go through your fully trained movewithus agent. It is their job to compile the HIP, including the EPC, on your behalf. If your property is marketed without one, the agent can be fined up to £200 per day per offense.
As before, your movewithus agent will explain their fees to you fully. The only difference is that this will now include a separate upfront charge for your HIP. There are several payment options available to you which will be explained to you by your agent.
