Amphibi-what?

You may have seen Top Gear’s amphibious car challenge in which the boys had to build a car that could survive in water. Now, the UK is to see its first amphibious house.

The amphibious house has been given full planning permission and is set to adorn the banks of the River Thames later on this year.

Designed by Baca architects, the house will sit on an island on the River Thames and has been designed to rise and fall with the water level. Its position on the island will give panoramic views of the river complete with its own garden.
Let’s hope it’s significantly more successful than Clarkson’s amphibi-car…
