Morocco actively encourages foreign investment, as King Mohammed VI has taken pains to create conditions attractive to the international buyer. The government does not legally differentiate between foreign and national investors. In the King’s own words “Our Kingdom has seen reforms that have had tangible repercussions on the economic situation, but our ambition is to widen prospects for growth even further by promoting small and medium - sized enterprises and encouraging both national and foreign public and private investment, while encouraging the private sector to be more entrepreneurial...”

Investing in Tangiers

Over the last three years Tangiers has experienced phenomenal growth. As the new King Mohammed VI seeks to position Morocco as a key tourist destination under the Plan Azur, Tangiers has been recognised as a key factor in achieving this goal. The progress can already be seen, a new pleasure port and marina is being built in Tangiers, as are new conference centres and hotels.

The train station has been completely modernised and a new railway line will connect Tangiers with the Mediterranean coast, building on the already established train route to Rabat, Casablanca and Marrakech. However it’s not just tourism that will drive the growth in Tangiers, it’s also business.

The new port, currently being built 30 minutes from the city will be one of the biggest in the Mediterranean and will eclipse its Spanish counterpart Algeciras, not just in size but also in the quality of it’s new modern facilities.

Morocco has been attracting much interest from overseas buyers for the new tourist complexes and resorts; however the city of Tangiers and the project Torre Miraflores are attractive not only on a lifestyle level but also as a wise investment.
